Mold Product Safety

We are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) for human skin to reproduce biofidelity.
(PVC (polyvinyl chloride, PVC) is used in the manufacturing process. In order to make PVC more flexible and to increase the fidelity of the product, plasticizers and stabilizers are mixed into the PVC and thermoformed into molded products. Since the start of production in 2009, JASTI has been using DINA and DINP as plasticizers, which are safer than DOP, but in 2015, these plasticizers were replaced by new phthalate-free plasticizers due to concerns about carcinogenicity caused by the phthalic acid content. As a result, JASTI's PVC products are now even safer.

Damping Material

The human bone (ribbed bone) of the Hybrid-III 50th and 5th is formed from special steel. increase human fidelity, a damping material is attached to the back of the ribbed bone. Damping material was previously specified by United McGill, but due to discontinuation of production, an equivalent substitute is now being used. JASTI has developed a low carbon content material that is less susceptible to thermal displacement and has the same performance as the conventional damping material. The combination of these ribbed iron and damping materials reduces chest displacement to low/high speed.
Impact Certification can now be issued.

Characteristics of Rubber Products

Since dummies are required to have a high degree of raw material fidelity in manufacturing, many rubber products are used that utilize the characteristics of rubber, such as bending and stretching. JASTI uses this information to determine the hardness of rubber products based on Lumbar Spine, Nodding.
We offer parts and components by hardness, such as Block, Knee Flesh Insert, and so on. We can adjust and calibrate dummies by combining these hardness-specific parts and components in calibration tests, so please feel free to contact us for more information.

Lumbar Spine

The Lumbar Spine is a rubber-based material that acts as a lumbar vertebra for humans, absorbing shock by deformation and absorbing thoracic impact.
The performance of the Lumbar Spine requires not only the hardness of the skin, but also repeatability, resilience, and durability. In particular, the Hybrid-III 50th Male requires surface hardness, and the 5th Female requires the Torso Flexion Test.
The chest displacement is required for the Chest Jacket, Rib Assembly and Lumbar, which are the basic calibration components of the Chest Jacket, Rib Assembly and Lumbar.
The characteristics of the dummy are limited to a large extent by the Spain. Therefore, the accuracy and reliability of each component, not to mention the accuracy and reliability of each component, is the key to ensuring the reliability of dummies.

Nodding Block

The Nodding Block is a rubber block that is incorporated into the Nodding Joint Assembly of the HybridIII-50M, 5F and 95LM. In the case of the 50M, the maximum rotation angle of the 50M is approximately 1.5 degrees in the flexion test.
64-78°, not only the maximum rotation time of 57-64 ms, but also the maximum moment of 88.2-108. The maximum moment is 88.2-108.4 Nm. Neck flexion and extension tests have verified that the characteristics can be adjusted by changing the hardness of the Nodding Block. The hardness of the Nodding Block can be adjusted by changing its hardness. The hardness of the Nodding Block is specified as 80-90 on the Durometer (Shore A) hardness tester according to the legal requirements on the screen, but JASTI has supplied Neck that passes the blackness test in combination with the Nodding Block of intermediate hardness 85. However, if the performance of the hardness test does not meet the required calibration value, we can use a nodding block of a different hardness to change the calibration value.
The Nodding Block can be adjusted. JASTI offers 5 types of nodding blocks with different hardness (80-82-85-87-90). Before replacing a neck or molded product, is recommended to check the neck characteristics by adjusting the nodding block. For detailed performance characteristics, please contact JASTI.

Knee Flesh Insert

In the knee characteristic test, a knee impact test is conducted using a probe to confirm that the dummy is structurally capable of correctly measuring the impact force to which the knee is subjected during a full-surface collision in an automatic car. The maximum impact force is 471.5-578.2 da N is required. The impact force can be adjusted by changing the hardness of the rubber Knee Flesh Insert installed between the Knee Flesh and Knee Cap Assembly. (The hardness required is 40-50 on the Durometer (Shore A) hardness tester according to the legal requirements on the screen.
However, JASTI offers as standard a Knee Flesh Insert with a hardness of 45, which is an intermediate value. If the required impact strength is not achieved during the performance verification test, the hardness of the Knee Flesh Insert can be adjusted by changing the hardness. JASTI offers a variety of hardnesses for the Knee Flesh Insert.
Three types of Knee Flesh Inserts are available: 42 (soft)-45 (standard)-47 (hard). If the knee impact test does not meet your requirements, we recommend that you try a different hardness Knee Flesh Insert.
